Uh oh! Someone let loose a troll on the group. Keep your eyes open guys!
Also, I figure that at the end of this month, we'll go ahead and retire the current themes and go with something more...summery. Any suggestions?

Everyone! Head to our
forums, here in the journal area, and talk. Hell, start a topic if you have something you want to discuss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Check it out guys! I've snagged us a short subscription so that we can all enjoy better looking journals (and so the mods don't have to see those awful ads!). I'm hoping that a more attractive journal on the main page will draw in more activity from the group. So the subscription is a short one, sort of like a trial run.
But now that we have a subscription, do you know what that means? Means we need to work on getting some css into the journals!
Someone, QUICK! Pull together a fantastic css journal layout for the group! I will love you for ever and ever.
Exercise #3: Victory
I would like for you to draw/write/photograph/whatever your interpretation of the word "Victory". It doesn't have to be the most amazing work of art (this isn't a contest), or if you feel that dedicated, please do so. All entries to this exercise will be featured right here in the journal. So make sure you create something that you would want the public to be in awe over. Send this account a note with a link to your deviation, and I'll make sure to add your entry to the list.
Here are the submissions so far:
Victorious -See guys? Nothing major. I had fun creating this though, seeing as how I'm apparently recovering from a major bit of block.
Victory Painted in Crimsonand
Victory Painted in Crimson ID -Very awesome! Everyone, give love, money, and comments to ~YoungC for his being the first person to submit art to the activity exercise this round!
danee313 with
V4Winged Victory -Everyone, take a look at Danee's art! Right now! Seriously..it's top notch. Her art really is fun and lightens my day when I spot it in my watchlist.
The-Arkayne with
090-VICTORY -take a good look at this fantastic sketchy image! The color added to the lines gives the picture much more awesome-ness. Yes indeed!
J-Mace with
I Found Victory and
I Found Victory Pencils!
-Well this is awesome! I do believe that this is the most activity we've had thus far (in the case of actual participation with art and such). Thank you sooo much J-mace! Your art is wonderful!
She Smiles.
-WOW! Just, WOW folks! This is an absolutely gorgeous piece! Perhaps it's because I have such an affinity for children and wings, and that combo is deadly for me. But this really is just a beautiful piece. You can definitely feel the love for Natiq's daughter from this picture!
OnederBred with
Victory.
-Oh man, this deviation is chock full of awesome! The picture almost literally explodes with action! The color, movement, and beautiful organic shapes all come together to give us a 'splosion of fun! Definitely worth the full view folks!
purplerose with
Victory.
-Yes! Finally got a bit of photography in this list! You know, I'm usually not one for a centered subject in a picture, but the positioning in this really does push that feel of "victory"! Very lovely!
You guys need to go comment on each others work!! Don't make me scold all of you!
I'm looking forward to yalls participation, so don't let me down!
Black Artists Vibe #5: Improvement
Also up for activity is a discussion. What I would like for you guys to do, is ask a question here on a topic that you feel you need improvement on artistically. If you see a question in the comments that you feel you can answer
helpfully feel free to answer that person there, or in a note. I emphasize helpfully, because that's the point of this exercise...being helpful.
Example:
"Alright, I am completely sucking on dynamic anatomy! What are some suggestions for ways to improve? What did you do to make drawing dynamically more simple? Or will it ever be simple?"
Then, if you so choose, you could answer my question in comments or a note to myself. Give links to tutorials if you have them! Or even if you have links to good examples.
Following me? Good! If you need further clarification, please do ask. I won't bite!
You can now join each other in some dAmn chat
here! You can also search for BANetwork, and that'll bring up the chatroom as well. I'll eventually go through and add those in our memberlist to the memberlist of the chatroom, so you'll have priveledges over that of a guest.
HOW DO I JOIN??
Please take a look at the rules, which can be found
here. And remember: send notes, not comments!
Here's the member list! Look at the size of this group!!
as for the improvement question...
I like drawing fighting scenes, i like drawing comics... and i used to be able to draw fighting scenes in comics like no one elses business but lately i feel i need to step up my knowledge of fighting in general to do that so it doesnt look hella whack. Anyone have any sources for fighting stuff? stock photo's, galleries, tips, tricks, tutorials, anything would be appreciated really :3
