To me, it has no role in my artwork.

What does, though, is sensuality and that can be anything from the smooth sheen of skin to a sideward glance; it's the sentiment that I try to lend the viewer through my imagery. With exception to children in all but traditional pose and composition, of course, I don't think twice about whether a render needs to be clothed or not. Actually, my Muses decide.

mmm... i dont think sexuality has a big role at all in my pics/comics. Im not much of one to draw big breasts or insanely muscular men nor am i the type to draw nudes and such but ive done it on occasion so dont put it beneath me. I wold like to think that my art and my story alone could pull in an audience without sexuality making it attractive.... maybe its just me but id like to be a good artist/writer before i start turning to hormones to fuel the attractiveness of my art. Im not saying theres anything wrong with sexuality in art as long as its done for the right reasons and the person likes what theyre doing, but for me as an individual, sexuality is pushed back in the line compared to more important things such as writing, drawing style, coloring technique, layout, composition, and a slew of other stuff.

sexuality plays everything in my poetry ... it is the emotions that come from my body put into words that are a description of me ... most women(not all) use there emotions as an expression through sexuality ... i know that when i think of sex ... it is the emotional aspects that come into play long before the physical ... if there is not emotional attachment then the physical is nothing special ... and so when i write ... i am making love through my words ... my sexuality is reflectant in what i feel ... and when i feel i write ... rather it be anger ... or happiness ... being a woman ... being the bearer of nations ... the yin to the yang ... the eve to adam ... i am constantly reminded of these things simply because i am a woman ... so it is only natural that it should be born again through my writing ...

Sexual and sensual wise - yes. But I'm not one of those artists who's going to draw a tiny backed big breasted woman for the sake of beauty, sex, fanservice and fame (Or yaoi/yuri *shudder*). There are more things out there that can strike you deep down as erotica than immediately going for the self gratifyin' porn.

Actually I think that IS the problem/hindrance. So many people try to be as lude/crude/rude with their art in the sexual sense as far as POLICY on DA will allow and it just makes it harder for those who are cleaner artists to get any recognition (my biggest beef is with Inflationist and the Yaoi-freaks but that's for another day).

To 'fix' this problem - its a hard one to fix. It is engrained into our minds that 'sex sells' so obviously to get notice you need to sex-it-up apparently. A little is okay but there needs to be a line drawn. Luckily DA has a line that's fair to the 'prudes' and fair to those who aren't so 'prudish'. But a little moderation from the latter couldn't hurt entirely.

Sexuality plays in my artwork. I'm a sexual being, but my self esteem is not tied into my artwork per say. Just because I draw a small chested character or a large one has nothing to really do with me feeling one way or the other. I don't see the shame in having something sexual in your art, if that's how it is.

I don't do it to sell out or gain more hits because then I'd be drawing differently. Considering, I'm a adult as Hustler says "relax, it's just sex"...

It's all in the eye of the beholder, if you find it a hinderance, ask yourself why...it it because you demand more from your audience or demand more of yourself? If it's either or, it may be a self esteem issue.

People need to analyze themselves before pointing fingers at people's reasons for creating art with sexual tones

i like sex. but usually when i approach art i do my best to not think about sex, because everything will look sexy. i like my stuff to be a lil sexy but not too much.
